Blake International Rigs and an unnamed operator have recently signed a letter of award for the Blake Rig 651 for a multi-well plug and abandonment program in the US Gulf of Mexico.   The Blake Rig 651 is currently located at Blake’s Houma facility, where modifications and make ready operations are being performed prior to mobilization.

“Receiving this rig award is a major success in what has been a difficult market over the past twelve months, and it highlights our ability to adapt to conditions as they shift.” says Jeff Kessler, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Blake International Rigs.  “We are excited to be selected for the execution of this work, and are dedicated to performing the activities accident and injury free.”

The Blake Rig 651 is a 650 horsepower self-erecting platform rig suited for plug and abandonment, workover, and light drilling operations.  Blake International Rigs, headquartered in Houma, LA, owns and operates a fleet of 10 platform rigs.  For more information on Blake International, or the rig referenced above, visit www.blakeinternationalrigs.com
