Blake International USA Rigs, LLC has received a roll over contract for the “Blake 2003” rig. Pemex has awarded Blake International with a 1215 day contract worth approximately $70,000,000. It will commence following the 35 day extension that expires later this month. The Blake 2003 has been under contract with Pemex since July 2011.
According to Beau Blake, President and CEO, "Modular rigs will continue to play a key role in PEMEX's energy plans. With the Jack-up market utilization tightening and a steady rise in day rates, modular platform drilling and work over rigs have become extremely attractive to Pemex. Modular rigs continue to be a safe, low cost and effective way for Pemex to maintain their production output.”
